4th of July Fireworks Parking

General Information

Savannah’s Waterfront annual Independence Day Celebration attracts over 40,000 people each year. Celebrating the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, the fireworks show is not only entertaining but also a vibrant symbol of freedom in the United States. This event is free and open to all.

The fireworks will be launched from a barge in the Savannah River, scheduled to begin around 9:30 p.m. The show will be choreographed to a patriotic musical soundtrack broadcast from various locations throughout the viewing area. The approximately 20-minute display will be visible from Rousakis Riverfront Plaza, Plant Riverside District, Eastern Wharf, downtown rooftop bars, and will be streamed on WTOC+ (Roku, Firestick, Apple TV, etc.), WTOC.com, and the WTOC app.

Parking Information

The Savannah Convention Center offers fireworks viewing from the Esplanade and Riverwalk beginning at 3:00 p.m.  We will offer garage and surface lot parking for $30. Portable restrooms will be available, as the building will not be open to the public. Coolers, blankets, and chairs are permitted. However, glass containers, exotic animals, personal fireworks, bang snaps, smoke bombs, skates, skateboards, and bicycles are prohibited.

The Savannah Convention Center offers a frictionless, pay-by-phone parking system in partnership with Metropolis Parking, featuring computer vision technology. Guests will experience seamless, checkout-free payments. You simply drive in and out with no lines, cash, tickets, or apps. This hassle-free system saves time, reduces congestion, and enhances convenience for a smoother arrival experience.

1. How does this work?

Parking is now easier and more convenient than ever:

• First-time visitors: Upon arrival, scan the QR code posted throughout the parking lot and garage. Enter your license plate number and select a contactless payment option. When you're ready to leave, simply drive out—your payment will be processed automatically, and a text receipt will be sent to you.
• Returning visitors: If you've already registered, no additional steps are needed. Simply park, enjoy your event, and exit—no stopping or scanning required.

2. What are the parking options and rates?

• Surface Lot: $30
• Parking Garage: $30
  • Please note that on high-attendance days, an overflow lot will be available with shuttle service to and from the convention center. The overflow lot rate is $5.00

3. Do I have in-and-out privileges?

No, each entry is considered a new visit and will be charged accordingly at the time of exit.

4. Can I reserve parking in advance?

Not at this time, but it is something that may be available in the future.

5. What's the cancellation policy?

Once you drive in the garage or lot, you will have a30-minute grace period in which you can exit without being charged.

7. Are there additional fees?

There is a $0.99 fee per transaction that will be assessed at the conclusion of your visit.

8. How do I delete my account?

Log into your account at http://app.metropolis.io. Once logged in, click on "Account Settings", then "Terms and Privacy", then "Delete Account."
